Think green, shop locally.

Activities:

Earth Portraits: Images of Harbor Country
Friday, Saturday, Sunday
A selection of local photographs that serve to remind us we don’t have to leave Southwest Michigan to find beauty.  By photographer B.A. Brittingham.

Jewelry Making with Locally Harvested Treasures
A Demonstration
Saturday, May 3rd, 1-2 pm
Every year, Lake Michigan waves churn up beach glass and 350 million year old fossils called crinoids.  Jewelry maker Dixie Schrader will demonstrate how she turns these materials into exquisite jewelry.

Green Furniture: What Is It and Why Does It Matter?
A Presentation
Saturday, May 3rd, 2-3 pm
The sustainability of locally harvested hardwoods, durability of eco-friendly finishes, strong and not-so-strong points of bamboo as a furniture medium — these topics and more will be discussed by our own master woodworker Terry Hanover.  He will also show fine furniture made from sustainable materials.

Spinning Bamboo Yarn
A Demonstration
Saturday, May 3rd, 3-4 pm
Textile artist Dixie Schrader will demonstrate the technique for spinning bamboo fibers into silky yarn.

And to make your visit even more enjoyable, we will once again be serving complimentary coffee, tea, and chocolate — all organic and Fair Trade, of course!
